March 12–13, 2025 – A delegation from DaVita International’s Nursing and Bioengineering Departments conducted an in-depth, system-wide audit at the Tianqiao and Changqing campuses of DaVita (Shandong) Kidney Disease Hospital. Focusing on core components including medical quality control systems, equipment management, and operational protocols, the visit aimed to drive continuous optimization of hemodialysis services by introducing DaVita’s global best practices and technical standards. Coinciding with World Kidney Day, the team also joined the hospital’s patient engagement event to raise public awareness of kidney health.

In-Depth Review: Comprehensive Quality System Assessment

Led by Ms. Anne O'Reilly, Senior Director of Nursing Education & Development, Ms. Nathalia Oliveira, Biomedical Services Manager, and Ms. Jiang Fei, Nursing Manager of DaVita China, the audit team visited key departments including the ultrapure water treatment plant room, centralized liquid supply room, dialysis center, vascular access center, and renal intensive care unit (RICU).

Through on-site inspections, process tracing, documentation reviews, and staff interviews, the team conducted a holistic review of critical areas: nursing quality control in hemodialysis, equipment operation and maintenance, dialysate bacterial endotoxin monitoring, testing for chemical contaminants in dialysis water, and digital record-keeping. Special attention was paid to clinical compliance, dialysis monitoring data accuracy, emergency protocol execution, infection control measures in inpatient wards, and medication management workflows.

World Kidney Day Engagement

Coinciding with the 20th World Kidney Day, the delegation participated in the hospital’s “Kidney Friends Gathering.” Addressing the attendees, Ms. Anne O'Reilly emphasized: “Kidney health is a global priority. The lifestyle management strategies discussed today lie at the heart of daily conversations between DaVita’s global clinical teams and our patients.
