2023 Has Flown By—Let's Review the Service Highlights of DaVita (Shandong) Kidney Disease Hospital in the First Half of the Year!

Highlight 1: DaVita Witnesses True Love

On February 7, 2023, two kidney patients from our hospital tied the knot and officially became a married couple! In 2017, these two strangers came to the hospital for dialysis. Just as DaVita gave them hope for life, fate brought them together over the past seven years, allowing them to meet, get to know each other, and fall in love!

Though illness may be merciless, humanity’s warmth shines through—DaVita was there to witness their love! We hope the two will walk hand in hand with sincerity and affection, weather life’s storms, and embark on new journeys together. Wishing them all the best!

Highlight 2: Continuing Care, Fulfilling the Dream of Motherhood

On March 9, 2023, a kidney dialysis patient at our hospital successfully gave birth to a healthy baby!

Let’s turn the clock back two years…

She was 28, immersed in the sweetness of newlywed life when she was unfortunately diagnosed with uremia. As a wife, she had always cherished the hope of adding a little life to their family. However, pregnancy for uremia patients carries extremely high risks, turning what was once a simple wish into a distant dream.

Just as she was gradually losing hope, our clinical medical and nursing team learned of her strong desire to become a mother during heartfelt conversations. To help her achieve her dream of having a complete family, the hospital director took the lead in establishing a "Special Pregnancy Medical Team." Based on her specific condition, the team conducted detailed discussions and designed a personalized dialysis plan. With data support from DaVita's international medical and management teams, and relying on DaVita's excellent dialysis quality (KT/V index), she successfully underwent the entire cycle of dialysis care for preparation and pregnancy under the attentive care of the special medical team and logistical support staff.

We will continue to stand by her, wishing the entire family peace, joy, and happiness!

Highlight 3: Strong Capabilities—Construction Begins on Third Dialysis Center

On the morning of May 3, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Third Dialysis Center of DaVita (Shandong) Kidney Disease Hospital was grandly held at the Changqing campus. Liang Yanling, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Changqing District People's Congress, attended the ceremony and announced the commencement of construction. The event was presided over by Zhang Xiaoyi, CEO of DaVita (Shandong) Kidney Disease Hospital. More than ten leaders from the district committee, subdistrict offices, and the general manager of the project construction unit were also present.

With an investment from DaVita, the new dialysis center spans an area of 1,200 square meters and is scheduled to be operational by October 2023. Upon completion, the total number of dialysis machines at the Changqing main campus and Tianqiao branch will reach 164. DaVita (Shandong) Kidney Disease Hospital will then operate three specialized dialysis centers, further strengthening the hospital's professional capabilities.

Highlight 4: DaVita International COO Visits Shandong!

On May 15, 2023, Mr. Jeffrey Hemminger, Chief Operating Officer of the International Division of DaVita Group, arrived in China and began his visit to DaVita (Shandong) Kidney Disease Hospital, accompanied by Mr. Hong Junqin, Regional Director of DaVita China.

From May 16 to 17, Mr. Jeffrey Hemminger and Mr. Hong Junqin, accompanied by the hospital’s management team, toured key facilities including the double reverse osmosis water treatment equipment room, the Vascular Access Center, hemodialysis units, and the newly constructed Third Dialysis Center. They also engaged in warm conversations with dialysis patients.

During the subsequent symposium, Mr. Jeffrey Hemminger discussed strategic operations with the hospital’s management team. He introduced the latest clinical achievements and technological trends in DaVita’s international kidney dialysis sector and shared the group’s global business outlook and future strategic goals. He expressed great confidence in the expansion of the Shandong campus!

Highlight 5: Cross-Border Dialysis—DaVita’s Services Span the Globe

In June 2023, a kidney patient from Singapore traveled thousands of miles to visit ancient China, with Jinan, Shandong, as one of his destinations. Before his trip, he set aside ample time to research dialysis hospitals in the Shandong region. After thorough consideration, he placed great trust in DaVita’s dialysis treatment plans, which fully met his needs for dialysis care during his travels.

On June 17, he arrived as scheduled at DaVita’s Shandong campus for travel dialysis. A personalized treatment plan was developed for him by the hospital’s nephrology expert team led by President Li Jin and the dialysis specialist team led by President Miao Miao. During the four-hour dialysis session, he expressed great satisfaction and left a note of gratitude for the medical team before departing. That same day, the medical team shared the KT/V value—a measure of dialysis adequacy—with him for the session. He remarked that DaVita’s dialysis service exceeded his expectations! His family mentioned that if they have the opportunity to travel again, they would definitely choose DaVita once more.

DaVita (Shandong) Kidney Disease Hospital has over 500,000 dialysis sessions of experience and consistently uses the KT/V index to assess dialysis adequacy. We are committed to providing high-quality dialysis treatment to our kidney patients and their families, helping them enjoy healthy and happy lives!
